Melodies From Heaven

Most of you know THE DRAMA I've been dealing with with my car. It's been in and out (Mostly IN) the shop since May 5 and I finally got the whole thing situated yesterday. Let me first say, God provides. Half the time I didn't know how I was going to pay for all of these repairs, considering that I have a hard time holding onto money (For various reasons, I'm not some shopaholic, I swear!), I neglected to send in my timesheet for my PT job so I missed a paycheck, and for a cheap car the repairs were expensive as hell. I always fall asleep with no problems, but when I'd wake up when all of this was going on it would be the first thing on my mind. Oh, and did I mention that I was driving a P.O.S loaner from my mechanic? I mean, thank you for letting me borrow it, but would it kill you to maybe dust off the dashboard?

I learned a few things about myself and my relationship with God
  1. The Lord will make a way out of no way. Like I said, I wondered how I was going to pay for these repairs. You'll also notice I said I got the whole thing situated yesterday. He's an On-Time God, yes He is!
  2. The Lord puts people in your path and makes things happen for reasons that may not become clear at first. Eventually you connect the dots and realize the lesson in your struggle. When the issues with my car first came up I happened to have reconnected with a guy I went to school with. Turns out he's a personal financial consultant. That's God right there. I went to the Women's Ministry Annual Prayer Breakfast and one of the ministers asked us to turn to a certain scripture in our Bibles. I have a study bible which will take a certain topic and expound on it, give background and cross references to other scriptures. One of the study topics was debt. I'm not making this up! I wasn't even looking for that scripture, and it wasn't what we were studying, but there it was!!
  3. Alicia Keys "Superwoman" is my anthem. Up until a year ago, maybe a few months longer, I always thought I'd need to be taken care of in certain aspects. There were things I wouldn't have done because I didn't think I could do them. Now I realize that I can do all things through Christ, and that it's ok to ask for help or advice. That doesn't mean I have to take it. I don't know everything and there are people God puts in my path who know what I need to know and it's ok to get their expertise without feeling like a failure.
  4. Lately I've come to realize that I have some truly awesome women in my life. Sister-friends who are saved and not afraid to show it. And that makes it so easy to talk to them about the things in my life that get me down. This world can be so ungodly that sometimes it's easy to forget that there are Christians who truly live by the Word. I have sister-friends that I can pray with, pray for, and who'll pray with and pray for me. Hallelujah!

I hate to end this on a sad note but I must: One of my good friends, B, lost her young cousin to a drunk driver ON MOTHER'S DAY!!!! One reckless person cost a family their 8 year old son and brother because he was too irresponsible to find another way home. Please people, if you can't concern yourself with the possibility of hurting someone else then at least have respect enough for yourself to not drink and drive!!! An 8 year old beautiful boy is gone. My prayers are with B and her family.
